First Four Writing Sites I Joined

Writing Sites Over the Years

It has been a little over ten years since I first started writing online.  I have seen many writing sites come and go over the years. Writing sites have not changed that much over the years. Sadly, writing sites that paid their writers are few and far between.

Back when I first started writing it seemed like many good sites paid writers.  There were quite a few places for beginning online writers to learn a few things.  Most other writers were more than willing to help me understand the in's and out's of online writing.

First Four Writing Sites I Joined

  1. Helium
  2. Squidoo
  3. IWriter
  4. TextBroker

Helium

Helium was the very first writing site that I joined.  I joined the site to post my poetry.  I loved Helium, and I do still miss the site.  Helium is where it all began for me.  Helium is also where I first learned how to write an online article. Up until the very end when Helium shut down, most of what I had posted there was short stories and poetry.  I learned a lot from the other writers there.

Squidoo

Squidoo is where I jumped into online writing with both feet.  Squidoo is where I learned what online writing was all about.  There is a love and respect amongst writers, which unless you are a writer, you will never fully understand.  The soul of a writer is a very deep and wonderous soul.

There came the point when I thought alright I want to make a living writing.  I have finally found work that I can do from home.  Many of the other writers shared that they wrote for other sites as ghostwriters.  They recommended two sites that would help me to become a better writer and earn some money at the same time.  The two sites that I join are still around and always looking for new writers.

IWriter

I wrote for Iwriter for a little over a year.  It has been a very long time since I have done any work there.   I am locked out of my account because I have not written anything for them in so long.  There are many reviews out there about Iwriter, some good and some bad.  Honestly, Iwriter is not a site I would recommend for seasoned writers.

Textbroker

I still write for textbroker to this day.  When I started writing for them, they had a lot of tutorials to help new writers get better. Ther was also plenty of articles to write and I enjoyed the work.  I have to say that Textbroker is one of my favorites ghostwriting sites.

Over the years many sites have come and gone.  Only a few sites have lasted the test of time.  These four sites were the first ones for me; there were many others.  Some are still around, but many of them didn't make it through the test of time.

I will be writing about other writing sites that are around.  Some sites I still write for and others I do not.  I will tell you the reasons why I have left a few sites.  There are even sites where I still belong but, I no longer write for them.  That is for another time.

Work From Home Jobs:

Work From Home Jobs: Let's Start From the Begining

Work from Home jobs, I will start from the beginning.  I have been looking into a work from home job before people even know about work from home jobs.  I am what they call legally blind, that means that I can not drive.  I have been like this from birth so please do not feel sorry for me.  I can see well enough to write, and that has always been my dream.

The First Work From Job I tried

The first work from job I tried was making earrings from home.  Making earring from home turned out to be a huge scam and so my learning and understanding of the scams had begun. I spent a lot of money on supplies and wasted a lot of time.

Beware of the Work from Scam

Beware of the work from home scam.  There are many different ways to work from home.  Now, with all the electronics it has become the norm to work from home. But, there are many people out there who want to take your hard-earned money away from you.  They don't care if they are taking food from your child's month.

If It Sounds Too Good To Be True

Many work from home jobs are real jobs.  Working from home means working.  Many places will make you think that you are going to get rich and you will be lucky enough to make ends meet. You have to do work to make money. There is always some work to do.  Don't be fooled by places that say you can work only a couple of hours and making a living.  That is not true.  You are going to have to put a lot of work in before you can get to that point.

This one is my opinion.  Do not put any money out for work at home jobs.  Over the years I have lost a lot of money trying to find work from jobs with none of them working out.  I have wasted a lot of money trying to make money.

Thanks for reading.  Come back soon. I will being posting articles about real work at home jobs.  I have found some places where you can make small amounts of money.

Last Attempt to Find a Work From Home Job

Last Attempt to Find a Work From Home Job

Time goes by so fast; I can't believe it has been eleven years since I  started looking for work at home jobs. I tried many jobs over those years. But, everything changes and people grow up. The next few months will be my last attempt to find a work from home job that suits me.

Many of you know that I am a stay at home, mother. Or at least I will be until the end of this year. My son turns eighteen in a few days. He will be finishing high school this year. I enjoyed every moment of being there for him. Being a stay at home mother meant that I was allowed to try to fulfill my dream of being a writer.

I put my heart and soul into my writing. I  learned many things over the years. But, sadly I was never able to make enough with my writing to say, I was making a living writing.

One Last Attempt to Work From Home

In my last attempts before my son finishes high school. I have started once again seeking out jobs that I can do from home. I have also been looking into writing articles and short stories for magazines both online and offline.

I decided, to do a series of articles about some of the things I have found while searching for work that I could to from home. Maybe, some of what I  discovered will help some of you out there, who want to work from home as well.

I have not given up on my dream and I never will.  But, the cost of everything has gone up over the past ten years.  It is time for me, to start looking for work so that I can help out with the bills.

No matter what ends up happening, whether I do find something I can do from home, or if I have to go out and work outside of my home, I will never stop writing.  Writing is in my soul. I write through the soul. I will never stop, even if I can only write in my spare time.

I hope, you enjoyed reading about the newest phase of my life. Come back soon and discover what I  learned about working from home jobs.

Why Do You Blog?

Why Do You Blog?

Why do you Blog? I was reading a post by Tracey Jade Boyer.  She asked many of her friends, why they blog.  At first, the answer came quickly, most people blog because they get some joy out of it. But there is so much more than that.

I thought about her question, why do you blog?  It's basically like someone asking you why do you write.  For me, there are many reasons why I write.  The simplest way to answer this question is to say because it brings be joy and happiness.  But, I write for so many reasons.

Reasons I blog

  1. Blogging brings me joy and happiness
  2. I love to share my knowledge with other
  3. I have met so many new wonderful people by blogging
  4. Blogging makes me feel like in some way I am helping others
  5. I blog for myself to keep some memories alive
  6. Yes, I blog in hopes of making money
  7. I writer to help me with stress

Change of Attitude Towards Blogging

Over the past few months, I have discovered a lot of things about myself.  I kind of push myself too hard where my blogging is concerned.  I have come to the realization that I do not blog for the money but because I enjoy other things about blogging.  I have realized that I no longer expect an income from my blogs if it happens great if not oh well.  I have decided, not to push myself as hard.  I will write as I write and whatever happens, happens.

I totally changed my attitude towards blogging, and the funny things is, I have been writing even more since this change.  I have taken the stress off of myself, and it seems to be working.  I write when ideas pop into my head.  They seem to be coming more frequently since I have taken this added stress off of myself.

So to truly answer Tracey's question, why do I blog?  I blog for many reasons.  All of my writing helps me in one way or another.  Writing is in my souls, and I feel lost when I am not writing.  I blog for all the joys and happiness that it bring to me.

When Problems Arise, Do Not Stress!

When there are bumps in the road, where things start going astray, it is all in the way that you look at it.  If you panic, that only make things worst.  All that you can do is do what you can do and pray everything works out.

Life is never easy, and the are always going to be bumps in the road or rocks in your way.  Do your best to try and stay calm.  Look at what you can do and don't worry about what you can't.  Do what you can at that moment to help with the problem that has arisen.  Remember,  things are not always in your hands.  Do what you can to help the situation.

Don't let it get to you!  Do all that you can do to change things around.  Most problems do get worked out so don't stress over what you can change.
