First Four Writing Sites I Joined

Writing Sites Over the Years

It has been a little over ten years since I first started writing online.  I have seen many writing sites come and go over the years. Writing sites have not changed that much over the years. Sadly, writing sites that paid their writers are few and far between.

Back when I first started writing it seemed like many good sites paid writers.  There were quite a few places for beginning online writers to learn a few things.  Most other writers were more than willing to help me understand the in's and out's of online writing.

First Four Writing Sites I Joined

  1. Helium
  2. Squidoo
  3. IWriter
  4. TextBroker

Helium

Helium was the very first writing site that I joined.  I joined the site to post my poetry.  I loved Helium, and I do still miss the site.  Helium is where it all began for me.  Helium is also where I first learned how to write an online article. Up until the very end when Helium shut down, most of what I had posted there was short stories and poetry.  I learned a lot from the other writers there.

Squidoo

Squidoo is where I jumped into online writing with both feet.  Squidoo is where I learned what online writing was all about.  There is a love and respect amongst writers, which unless you are a writer, you will never fully understand.  The soul of a writer is a very deep and wonderous soul.

There came the point when I thought alright I want to make a living writing.  I have finally found work that I can do from home.  Many of the other writers shared that they wrote for other sites as ghostwriters.  They recommended two sites that would help me to become a better writer and earn some money at the same time.  The two sites that I join are still around and always looking for new writers.

IWriter

I wrote for Iwriter for a little over a year.  It has been a very long time since I have done any work there.   I am locked out of my account because I have not written anything for them in so long.  There are many reviews out there about Iwriter, some good and some bad.  Honestly, Iwriter is not a site I would recommend for seasoned writers.

Textbroker

I still write for textbroker to this day.  When I started writing for them, they had a lot of tutorials to help new writers get better. Ther was also plenty of articles to write and I enjoyed the work.  I have to say that Textbroker is one of my favorites ghostwriting sites.

Over the years many sites have come and gone.  Only a few sites have lasted the test of time.  These four sites were the first ones for me; there were many others.  Some are still around, but many of them didn't make it through the test of time.

I will be writing about other writing sites that are around.  Some sites I still write for and others I do not.  I will tell you the reasons why I have left a few sites.  There are even sites where I still belong but, I no longer write for them.  That is for another time.

Work From Home Jobs:

Work From Home Jobs: Let's Start From the Begining

Work from Home jobs, I will start from the beginning.  I have been looking into a work from home job before people even know about work from home jobs.  I am what they call legally blind, that means that I can not drive.  I have been like this from birth so please do not feel sorry for me.  I can see well enough to write, and that has always been my dream.

The First Work From Job I tried

The first work from job I tried was making earrings from home.  Making earring from home turned out to be a huge scam and so my learning and understanding of the scams had begun. I spent a lot of money on supplies and wasted a lot of time.

Beware of the Work from Scam

Beware of the work from home scam.  There are many different ways to work from home.  Now, with all the electronics it has become the norm to work from home. But, there are many people out there who want to take your hard-earned money away from you.  They don't care if they are taking food from your child's month.

If It Sounds Too Good To Be True

Many work from home jobs are real jobs.  Working from home means working.  Many places will make you think that you are going to get rich and you will be lucky enough to make ends meet. You have to do work to make money. There is always some work to do.  Don't be fooled by places that say you can work only a couple of hours and making a living.  That is not true.  You are going to have to put a lot of work in before you can get to that point.

This one is my opinion.  Do not put any money out for work at home jobs.  Over the years I have lost a lot of money trying to find work from jobs with none of them working out.  I have wasted a lot of money trying to make money.

Thanks for reading.  Come back soon. I will being posting articles about real work at home jobs.  I have found some places where you can make small amounts of money.

Book Review: Welcome to The Fifth Dimension By Diane LeBlanc

Book Review:  Welcome to The Fifth Dimension  By Diane LeBlanc

Welcome to The Fifth Dimension  By Diane LeBlanc is published by North Atlantic Books in 2010.  This book was recommended to me by a fellow Reiki Master.

I love reading books about Heaven and the workings of Heaven.  I have read many books that go into the subject of Heaven and the cycles of the soul. Evey person is different and at a different time in the life of their soul.  So they all view Heaven and how it works differently.

That being said, what did I think of,  Welcome to The Fifth Dimension  By Diane LeBlanc, there are some good and exciting points to the book.  Daina talks about soul families explaining them in an entirely different way from most other writers.

There are guided meditations throughout the book with an in-depth explanation of how Diana views thing.  While  I do not agree with most of what Diana has to say in this book, I feel each person needs to discover things for themselves.  I do like that she explained herself and her spiritual path precisely.

Would I recommend reading Welcome to The Fifth Dimension  By Diane LeBlanc?  Yes, I would recommend reading this book if you like to read new age books and want to understand the spiritual side of things.

Last Attempt to Find a Work From Home Job

Last Attempt to Find a Work From Home Job

Time goes by so fast; I can't believe it has been eleven years since I  started looking for work at home jobs. I tried many jobs over those years. But, everything changes and people grow up. The next few months will be my last attempt to find a work from home job that suits me.

Many of you know that I am a stay at home, mother. Or at least I will be until the end of this year. My son turns eighteen in a few days. He will be finishing high school this year. I enjoyed every moment of being there for him. Being a stay at home mother meant that I was allowed to try to fulfill my dream of being a writer.

I put my heart and soul into my writing. I  learned many things over the years. But, sadly I was never able to make enough with my writing to say, I was making a living writing.

One Last Attempt to Work From Home

In my last attempts before my son finishes high school. I have started once again seeking out jobs that I can do from home. I have also been looking into writing articles and short stories for magazines both online and offline.

I decided, to do a series of articles about some of the things I have found while searching for work that I could to from home. Maybe, some of what I  discovered will help some of you out there, who want to work from home as well.

I have not given up on my dream and I never will.  But, the cost of everything has gone up over the past ten years.  It is time for me, to start looking for work so that I can help out with the bills.

No matter what ends up happening, whether I do find something I can do from home, or if I have to go out and work outside of my home, I will never stop writing.  Writing is in my soul. I write through the soul. I will never stop, even if I can only write in my spare time.

I hope, you enjoyed reading about the newest phase of my life. Come back soon and discover what I  learned about working from home jobs.

Why Do You Blog?

Why Do You Blog?

Why do you Blog? I was reading a post by Tracey Jade Boyer.  She asked many of her friends, why they blog.  At first, the answer came quickly, most people blog because they get some joy out of it. But there is so much more than that.

I thought about her question, why do you blog?  It's basically like someone asking you why do you write.  For me, there are many reasons why I write.  The simplest way to answer this question is to say because it brings be joy and happiness.  But, I write for so many reasons.

Reasons I blog

  1. Blogging brings me joy and happiness
  2. I love to share my knowledge with other
  3. I have met so many new wonderful people by blogging
  4. Blogging makes me feel like in some way I am helping others
  5. I blog for myself to keep some memories alive
  6. Yes, I blog in hopes of making money
  7. I writer to help me with stress

Change of Attitude Towards Blogging

Over the past few months, I have discovered a lot of things about myself.  I kind of push myself too hard where my blogging is concerned.  I have come to the realization that I do not blog for the money but because I enjoy other things about blogging.  I have realized that I no longer expect an income from my blogs if it happens great if not oh well.  I have decided, not to push myself as hard.  I will write as I write and whatever happens, happens.

I totally changed my attitude towards blogging, and the funny things is, I have been writing even more since this change.  I have taken the stress off of myself, and it seems to be working.  I write when ideas pop into my head.  They seem to be coming more frequently since I have taken this added stress off of myself.

So to truly answer Tracey's question, why do I blog?  I blog for many reasons.  All of my writing helps me in one way or another.  Writing is in my souls, and I feel lost when I am not writing.  I blog for all the joys and happiness that it bring to me.

January 2017 Writing in Review

January 2017 Writing in Review

January 2017 writing in review.  Every month I go back and look over all that I have written.  I just like to keep track of things.  I was surprised at what I had discovered at the end of January 2017.  I had done a lot more than I had thought I did.

January 2017 Blogs in Review

January 2017 Blogs in Review.  I did the Ultimate Blog Challenge in January using writing Through the Soul.  Although, I didn't post every day.  I did end up posting the 31 articles for the month of January.  I am very glad that I did the challenge.  I ended up meeting new people, following new blogs and learning so much about blogging.

I was hoping to post more than what I had to my other blogs.  At the beginning of the year, my plan was to do all four Ultimate Blog challenges this year.  I was going to use each one of my blogs in each of the four challenges.  I don't know if I will still be doing that or not.

My blog Leelee, the Contented Dachshund, doesn't have that much content and I do have a tendency to post articles about Leelee on Niume.  Having a blog about your dog is not the easy to come up with fresh content.  Most of the content on Leelee the Contented Dachshund is photos of Leelee being Leelee.  I did manage to post four times to Leelee, the contented dachshund.

Amazingly, I did post once a week to my review blog; this was a lot less than what I had hoped I would end up posting. It looks like in February this blog will be the I work on, at least that is the way things are going so far.

Sadly, my blog Spiritual Mystic, the blog I see as being my main blog, only got five posts last month.  But, anything is better than nothing.  I do have plenty of article ideas for this blog.  Spiritual Mystic seems to be more of a blog where people want me to give them information about spiritual practices.  That is what I plan to do with that blog.

44 blog posts may not seem like that many posts.  But, I have been much more constant in my post.  This is also I lot more than I have done in past months.  So, I see 44 posts as a significant improvement.

Writing Else Where

I also do some writing on writing sites.  I posted a total of 64 posts to other writing sites.  This gives me a total of 104 posts for the month of January. Plus, I did do I little work on one of my novels.  All in all, I have happy with how much writing I have done in the month of January.

Trying Something New: Book Reviews

Trying Something New:  Book Reviews

I am trying something new in my writing.  I am doing book reviews. I believe all writers should think out of the box sometimes.  I think as writers we owe it to ourselves to try writing in different styles and different ways.  We should at least give various types of articles a try.  I do put myself on the line and try and writing articles about different subjects once in a while.

Why Try Book Review?

I love books.  I love reading books and collecting books. Boy, my inner child is saying, we have changed a lot since childhood.  I was not much of a reader when I was very young.  That has all changed over time. When I was in my teens, I read a lot. Over the years there have been thousand of books that I have read.

I love to collect books, most nonfiction but I do love the classic stories. I don't quite have the huge library that I have been dreaming about since childhood.  But, I do have a very nice collection of books.

Ever since I started writing online, I have been reading more article than books. But, after reading articles about book challenges and books blogs, I have been thinking about getting back into the habit of reading. I do have a blog where I do product reviews so why not try books reviews.

New To Book Reviews

I admit I have done many book reports in my lifetime, but very few book reviews.  So, I have been reading up on how to write book reviews.  There are many different articles out there on the subject of writing book reviews.  Ther are all entirely different depending on who has written them, and if there is a website, it's many their guidelines for book reviews.

I figured I would just try and write a few book reviews and see what happens.  You never know, when you try something new, you might end up liking it.  I will just have to see if I like it or not.  None the less, I think trying something new is always a good thing to do.  I will be trying something new; I will be doing books reviews.  Do you like to try new things, it doesn't have to be writing, please share?
